The 25-year-old has reportedly donated a sum of money that ‘far exceeded’ her salary from her upcoming Woody Allen film, A Rainy Day in New York.

Days after her co-star Timothée Chalamet pledged to donate his salary from upcoming Woody Allen film, A Rainy Day in New York, to three different charities including Time’s Up, Selena Gomez has reportedly stepped forward to follow suit.

A source close to Gomez told People that while Gomez hasn’t made a public statement against the director, she ‘made a significant donation anonymously’ to the Time’s Up Legal Defence Fund that ‘far exceeded her salary for the film’.

Gomez has faced backlash from fans in recent months who criticised her decision to work with the filmmaker – following allegations of sexual assault by his daughter Dylan Farrow, which he denies.

Selena Gomez’ mum has been rushed to hospital after a row with her daughter over Justin Bieber.

Mandy Teefey was “so worked up” about the new romance she needed to be seen by doctors, according to TMZ.

It is believed Mandy and Selena had a “heated” discussion about the Baby singer – where mum Mandy was left reeling after discovering her daughter was incredibly serious about Biebs.

Selena also told her mum the newly reconciled pair were having couple’s therapy – which sources said threw Mandy off kilter.

Doctors were called after a family member requested a welfare check at a LA hotel – she was then taken to hospital.

Selena, 25, and Justin, 23 – who dated on and off from 2011 to 2015 – got back together after the pop princess split from The Weeknd

TMZ reported that Justin pursued Selena for weeks in an effort to win her back.

According to a source tied to the celebrity website, Selena’s kidney transplant back in September reminded the tattooed singer just how much she meant to him.

It wasn’t easy going for him to get back in her good books, though, with sources saying her family tried to talk her out of reconciling, calling Justin “vile”.

The source said: “Selena had to be won over” but that Justin was ‘persuasive’.

Seems he really is living by his song Girlfriend, which spouts lyrics such as “if I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go.”

While neither have publicly commented on their supposed reunion – as most stars are won’t to do – an insider spilled all to Us Weekly .

They said: “Selena and Justin are back together. Selena and The Weeknd just fizzled and ended amicably – it wasn’t dramatic and it wasn’t about Justin.

“But Selena always had feelings for Justin. Her friends want her to be cautious because she has been in such a good place post-surgery.”

Ah, good luck to the kids, we say.

The singer will be honored at the annual Women in Music dinner and awards gala on Nov. 30.

Selena Gomez is Billboard’s 2017 Woman of the Year.

The two-time Billboard 200 chart-leader will be presented with the award Nov. 30 at the annual Women in Music dinner and awards gala, held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Los Angeles.

Gomez, an award-winning singer, producer and actress, will join an all-star cast of previous Woman of the Year honorees including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Pink, Katy Perry, Fergie, Beyoncé and last year’s winner, Madonna, who delivered a moving speech that touched on feminism, sexism and much more.

“Not only is Selena soaring on the charts, but she continuously inspires young women everywhere to be authentic, give back and to not be afraid to use their voice,” said John Amato, president of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group. “She is never afraid to speak her mind and has used her platform to advocate for the needs of others. We are thrilled to be able to honor her as our Woman of the Year.”

Gomez’ career has never been in better shape. In 2015 and 2016, she enjoyed top 10 Billboard Hot 100 smashes with “Same Old Love” and “Hands to Myself” and “We Don’t Talk Anymore.” The trend continues, with hits “Bad Liar,” “Fetish” (featuring Gucci Mane) and “It Ain’t Me” (with Kygo) in the past year.

Five of her albums have cracked the top 10 of the Billboard 200, with the studio albums Revival (2015) and Stars Dance (2013) leading the chart.  Not confined to music, Gomez also executive-produced the Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, launched partnerships with Coach and Puma, and worked tirelessly across various philanthropic endeavors, from the Step Up Foundation to coaching for World Kindness Day, and raising more than $500,000 for the Lupus Research Alliance. Also, Gomez has been an active ambassador for UNICEF since 2009.

The prestigious event, held in conjunction with the publication of Billboard’s Women in Music issue, also recognizes the most powerful female executives in the industry. Additional Women in Music honorees will be unveiled in due course.

For the first time, the Women in Music event and a red-carpet pre-show will be broadcast live for on Twitter from 9pm-midnight EST on Nov. 30. Sponsors of the 2017 edition include Twitter, American Airlines, Iron Mountain Entertainment Services and Nielsen Music.

Selena Gomez has split from The Weeknd.

The Heart Wants What It Wants‘ hitmaker, 25, has gone her separate ways from the ‘Can’t Feel My Face‘ singer, 27, after just 10 months together.

A source told People magazine: “She and Abel have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.”

Selena has been spotted spending more time with her former flame Justin Bieber, 23, as of late – including visiting his house and going for breakfast with him – but they are not thought to be dating.

The famous pair have dated on and off for several years and were seen grabbing breakfast together at JOi Cafe in Westlake Village, CA, yesterday. The former couple seemed deep in conversation as Bieber tried to go incognito in a hoodie.

As source told Us Weekly: “They grabbed breakfast, blueberry smoothies with whipped cream, and were just talking—none of the staff really recognised them. Justin paid for both of them, they looked to be in a good mood, they just sat at a table and chatted for a while, no hand holding or anything, the conversation seemed lighthearted. They sat at a table inside where they had a little more privacy. They stayed for about 25 minutes before leaving together.”

But the reunion has not gone down well with Selena’s inner-circle.

A source close to Selena’s family told TMZ: “Justin is a vile human and will never be accepted by us. As long as she is even speaking to him in any way, it is not only disrespectful to everyone around her, it is disrespectful to herself.”

TMZ also claims that some members of Selena’s family believe Justin was the catalyst behind the depression that caused the starlet to check into rehab.

However, Selena isn’t taking her family’s feelings on-board – she’s been around Justin at least three times in the last week alone. The 25-year-old singer had previously opened up about her romance with The Weeknd, admitting she loves “tremendously big”.

She explained: “I’m the kind of of girl that loves tremendously big. I just have always been that girl. I will give my heart and my soul to the person that I love. It’s just how I operate. With that comes a lot, you know?”

During their relationship, Selena always saw The Weeknd – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – as her best friend as well as her boyfriend.

She shared: “I don’t depend on one area of my life to make me happy. It’s really important for me to love and nourish my friends and family and to make sure that I never get influenced by a guy.

“I’ve wanted to be in a strong head space for years, and I really wasn’t. Before, I was so young and easily influenced, and I’d feel insecure. You want someone to add to your life, not to complete you, if that makes sense. I’m lucky because he’s more of a best friend than anything else.”

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have a long history together, dating back to when they were child actresses on Barney & Friends. They’ve been through a lot of ups and downs like back in 2010 when Demi was asked about Selena and she answered “Ask Taylor“. At the time, Gomez was hanging out with Taylor Swift and Lovato was clearly feeling snubbed. There totally was a rift, as Lovato told Girls Life that the both of them “were very busy” and “wishes the best to Selena” in the same year. Demi unfollowed Selena on Twitter, but then in 2015 they posted a photo together with the caption: “Look at how #coolforthesummer we are… Friends for years, #sameoldlove”.

Nowadays. When Selena’s new song “Fetish” was out, Demi didn’t forget to write a tweet about it, congratulating Selena. Gomez did the same by saying that she’s listening to Lovato’s song, “Sorry Not Sorry“. Yesterday, October 17th, Demi’s new documental, “Simply Complicated” was released.

Selena commented Demi’s post on Instagram: “This was beautiful. I’m so happy for you. You always continue to bold and real. I wish more people were like you. Love you.” This was so sweet of her, and of course, Demi commented too: “Thank you so much, this means the world to me and more. Love you too.” Also, they started following each-other on Instagram.

It seems like they are on solid ground again and fingers are crossed that they stay that way.

Believe it or not but today is the 10-year anniversary of Wizards of Waverly Place and the creator of the show is spilling secrets in light of the occasion. Todd Greenwald chatted with International Business Times about that crazy hat song fans started to know and love in the first season of Wizards and how Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone put their own spin on it. But, before we get to the good stuff, it may help if we travel back in time a bit. What actually was the hat dance? It was a little quirky song that Selena and Jennifer’s character would sing every time they saw a hat. Sometimes, Selena’s on-screen mom would join in too.

The song went a little something like this. “What’s that? A hat? Crazy, funky, junky hat. Overslept, hair unsightly. Trying to look like Keira Knightley. We’ve been there, we’ve done that, we see right through your funky hat.” Yes, bizarre but incredibly catchy and lovable all around. Todd explained that even though the writers may have come up with the words, it was Selena and Jennifer who were the masterminds behind the dance that went along with it.

He said the song was supposed to be Selena and Jennifer’s characters spin on a secret handshake, “It was to highlight a Harper and Alex bonding moment, to show that they had some history together. It came out of the writers’ room, but where it really came to life was when Jennifer and Selena gave it the dance.”

He continued, “It was just a collaboration of a silly line of words, brought to life during run-through by Jennifer and Selena. They gave it the life…You don’t write that stuff with the intent of it being taken that way. But it’s always great to see that.”

Just so everyone knows, the writers of the show didn’t sit in a room thinking of this dance themselves. LOL. Todd admitted he actually gets asked that question by fans all the time. Can you imagine?!

Now that we’ve got the full deets about the hat song and dance, it makes the whole thing even sweeter. Not only does it show how much fun Selena and Jennifer had on set but also what their relationship and friendship was like when the cameras stopped rolling. They really weren’t just co-stars they were besties who loved to act silly and hang out together.

Selena nor Jennifer have yet to comment on the spilled secret of the hat dance and how those creative juices started flowing when the dance was in the making. So, we’re kind of hoping to hear from them. Or just kind of hoping they’ll do the hat dance one more time. It was iconic and it’s the 10-year anniversary after all so what better time to bust out the moves.
